August: the Sunday night of months.

Oh August.  You fickle friend.  I mean, "hello! Nice to see you!"  August is the Sunday night of months, am I right?  You've still got time to be lazy and stay up late.  You've still got gorgeous sunny beach days ahead of you, but that sinking feeling, that Monday (AKA September) is just around the corner won't go away.  I'm sorry, I know it's not your fault August, but you're giving me anxiety and you need to stop!

Here are things I'm looking forward to this month:

  • Having the free schedule to work out and time to plan healthy meals.  Working out and eating in can get more and more difficult when I'm working full time.  So I'm going to take advantage of being able to do a Jillian Michaels workout at 11am on a Wednesday, cause that is a privilege, and I don't want to forget it!
  • Spending time with my mom.  She's going to come into the city one of these days, and I need to make it down to our Cape May trailer before the summer's over!
  • Blogging, blogging, blogging!  And again feeling the privilege of being able to do so whenever I get the itch.
  • Maybe this will change by the end of the month, but right now, I'm enjoying days alone.  I'm not feeling the need to be overly social.  I'd like August to be quiet and restful so that I'll be craving my days of talking all day long when I go back to work.  (Contrary to popular belief, most librarians can't seem to shut up.  Unless they're reading).
What's going on with you this month, readers?  I'd love to hear about your plans before this long weekend that we call summer comes to a close.

  1. You're so right about August. This is my first year being fully out of school so it doesn't feel so much like that as usual, yet with baby girl due mid-September I'm feeling it in other ways. Enjoy your time of relaxation, family, and self-indulgence until then.
